School meals and snacks
The Infant and Junior children break for lunch between 12.00 noon and 1.00pm. The children eat together in the dining room and school hall and the children are looked after and supported by an experienced team of midday supervisors.
We are always in the mood for good food!
We are Aspens Services, a market leading contract catering company and we specialise in school food.
We only work in the education sector so we know what our customers want. Mixing this knowledge with an understanding of what’s hot in the food world sparks creativity and excitement in our chefs. Our kitchens provide delicious home cooked food each day and cater for individual dietary requirements.
We don’t just provide food, we play our part to educate children and raise awareness about nutrition, food and where it comes from, so that they can make informed and mindful choices. Feeding our future. Please see more at www.aspens-services.co.uk
We make sure that our Food Festival menus are packed with comfort dishes and, at the same time, we help pupils to take their first steps with new tastes to explore. We make the most of fruit and vegetables that are in season, because that’s when they taste best and are the most planet friendly too.
Free School Meals
All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are currently entitled to receive free school meals. We think it’s a fantastic idea so please make sure that you support this initiative. Not only will you be saving money but you will also be giving your child a nutritionally balanced meal to fuel their bodies for the rest of the learning day.
Free school meals are available to children of all ages if their parents/carers are in receipt of certain benefits. If you think you may be entitled to free school meals you should make an application to the local education authority:

Paid school meals
Paid school meals are available for all pupils who are not eligible for Free School Meals. Dinner money needs to be paid weekly in advance on Monday mornings. We are unable to accept cash and ask that payments are made to school via ParentPay. Currently, the cost for a school meal is £2.50 per day.
If dinner money is not received for the week, meals will not be provided and a packed lunch must be brought from home.
Providing a packed lunch
If you choose to send your child with a packed lunch please note that it should be as equally healthy and nutritious as school dinners. We do not allow crisps, chocolate, sweets, nuts or any food with added sugar (choose sugar-free yoghurts, jelly and dried fruit). Water is freely available to all at lunchtimes, no other drinks are permitted. There are excellent lunchbox suggestions available on the NHS Change 4Life website.
Your child should be able to open/unwrap the food by themselves. For safety reasons we do not allow food in glass containers, nor do we allow peanuts or sweets to be brought to school. As our storage space is limited we request that lunch boxes are kept as small as possible, and are clearly marked with your child’s name. Any spoons needed must be brought from home. Your child also needs a drink (not fizzy) if they bring a packed lunch, as drinks are not provided in school for children who have packed lunches.
